London, UK – 15 January 2026:  Nepali poetry found a resonant voice in London as Nepali writer and poet Sangita Swechcha performed at Lost Souls Events in London, representing Nepali literature on an international spoken-word platform.

The evening brought together 22 poets from diverse cultural backgrounds, celebrating storytelling, emotional honesty, and shared artistic expression.

Founded and curated by Poet Hanna Stanislaus, Lost Souls Events has become a welcoming space for poets and spoken-word artists across London. The event continued this tradition of inclusivity and cross-cultural dialogue.

During her performance, Sangita Swechcha recited three poems — Let It Go, The Wall, and Elapsed Time — reflecting contemporary Nepali poetic sensibilities.

Her reading explored themes of resilience, inner conflict, and the passage of time, offering audiences a glimpse into emotional landscapes shaped by Nepali experience.

Speaking about the evening, organiser Hanna Stanislaus highlighted the power of cultural exchange through poetry, noting,

“Lost Souls Events is about creating a space where people can bring their full selves to the stage. The evening in Balham was a powerful reminder of how poetry connects us across cultures.”

Reflecting on her participation, Sangita Swechcha said, “Reciting Nepali poetry at the Lost Souls Events was deeply meaningful to me. Through poems like Let It Go, The Wall, and Elapsed Time, I wanted to carry fragments of Nepali emotional landscapes into a shared space, where poetry becomes a language that transcends borders.”

The event reaffirmed poetry’s role as a bridge between cultures, offering moments of connection and reflection for both performers and audiences.
Lost Souls Events continues to host poetry and spoken-word gatherings across London, providing an inclusive platform for emerging and established poets alike.
