Nepalilink Honoured at UK’s 16th Nepali Mela for Excellence in Diaspora Journalism

London. The London-based news portal Nepalilink.com has been honoured.

On Sunday, Tamu Dhee UK presented a special recognition during the 16th Nepali Mela held at Kempton Park Racecourse.

The award was conferred on Nepalilink by Nepal’s Ambassador to the UK, Chandra Kumar Ghimire, together with Tamu Dhee UK Chairperson, Jumkaji Gurung.

Nepalilink’s Chief Editor, Nabin Pokharel, Editor, Dhruvaraj Aryal, and Multimedia Editor, Narendra Basnet, accepted the honour. They were presented with a traditional pheta (headscarf), khada (ceremonial scarf), and a certificate of recognition encased in an ornate ankhijhyal (traditional lattice window frame).

The certificate praised Nepalilink for its unparalleled role in providing the Nepali diaspora with impartial, fearless and accurate information, thereby fostering unity, coordination and goodwill within the community.

It further conveyed best wishes for Nepalilink’s continued success, noting its recent ventures into multimedia and expressing hope that the outlet will grow even stronger. Since its launch in April 2020, Nepalilink has swiftly established itself as a leading media platform.

According to the organisers, Tamu Dhee UK, this year’s Nepali Mela, rich in cultural diversity, attracted nearly 13,000 participants. The event featured 45 cultural floats, as well as 75 stalls, including food, charity and commercial booths.
