London – Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) UK has congratulated Balendra Shah (Balen) for being appointed Prime Minister of Nepal and wished his government all success.

In a statement issued by Rajendra Pudasaini, President, and Dibakar Pandey, General Secretary, NRNA UK, said the mandate provided by the people presents an important opportunity to advance stability, transparency, and inclusive development for the nation.

“We also extend our sincere congratulations to the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) on its success in the Nepal elections. This outcome reflects the hopes and aspirations of the Nepali people for strengthened democracy, effective governance, and a renewed commitment to national progress,” the statement said.

Nepal occupies a uniquely significant position in the global landscape, situated between two of the world’s major emerging powers, India and China. In this context, it is important that Nepal continues to pursue a balanced, independent, and non-aligned foreign policy—maintaining constructive relations with all international partners while safeguarding its sovereignty, dignity, and national interests, the statement said.

At a time when global geopolitical dynamics are becoming increasingly complex, Nepal’s long-standing tradition of neutrality, trustworthiness, and strategic balance should remain a guiding principle. Such an approach will strengthen Nepal’s credibility and ensure that its decisions are always guided by the best interests of the Nepali people, the statement said.

“We encourage all other political parties to reflect on the message delivered by the people through this democratic process, recognize their shortcomings where necessary, and work constructively with the new government. A spirit of cooperation and national responsibility among all political forces will be essential in strengthening democratic institutions and advancing the country’s long-term interests,” the NRNA UK said in its statement.

“It is equally important for the new government to remain mindful of the strong message delivered by Nepal’s younger generation, particularly Gen-Z voters and protest movements, who have called for good governance, accountability, anti-corruption measures, and meaningful employment opportunities. Addressing these expectations should remain at the core of the government’s priorities,” said the statement adding, “Nepali citizens, both at home and across the global diaspora, rightfully expect responsible leadership that prioritizes national unity, economic opportunity, and social progress,”

“The government has a historic opportunity to harness the energy, talent, and goodwill of Nepalis worldwide to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.
Non-Resident Nepalis around the world have consistently demonstrated their commitment to Nepal’s development and nation-building. The diaspora stands ready to contribute as a trusted development partner through investment, knowledge exchange, skill transfer, and global networks that can support Nepal’s economic and social progress,” the statement said.

“We hope the new government will recognize and address the aspirations of the global Nepali diaspora and take meaningful steps to further the spirit of the “Once a Nepali, Always a Nepali” motto championed by the Non-Resident Nepali Association. A stronger partnership between Nepal and its diaspora will greatly contribute to the nation’s future prosperity,” the statement said.
