‘Digital modernisation can transform the entire private sector’

Anjani Phuyal
Kathmandu – Founder and CEO of Genese Solution, a UK-based value IT consulting and cyber security company, Anjani Phuyal, has said that Nepal stands at a defining moment — where digital modernization can transform the entire private sector.
Addressing the Leaders’ Dialogue on digital commodity growth in Lalitpur on Sunday, Phuyal emphasized that the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) must evolve “from a federation of voices to a federation of data.”
He outlined a nationwide vision to connect over 120 commodity and industry associations under one Digital Commodity Ecosystem, enabling smarter decisions, stronger trade competitiveness, and transparent policy advocacy.
Phuyal explained that by digitizing key sectors — agriculture, manufacturing, trade, education, health, and creative industries — Nepal could unlock tens of billions of rupees in efficiency and export gains by 2030.
In collaboration with the FNCCI, Genese Solution has launched a six-month pilot initiative beginning with five associations (Handicraft, Coffee, Pharma, Cement, and Courier) — integrating their data, automating communication through FNCCI Connect, and building analytics dashboards on secure AWS Cloud infrastructure.
“I would like to urge leaders to see Nepal through a new lens: A country powered by clean hydro energy, Driven by young, tech-native talent, Strengthened by a global diaspora network, and Ready to become a regional digital innovation hub. We already have what many countries are still trying to build — renewable energy, young talent, and global reach. We just need to connect these strengths through data,” said Phuyal.
“Digital transformation isn’t about technology alone, but about building national resilience and redefining how Nepal competes in the next decade,” he added.

Sharad Banjara
Welcoming the guests at the event entitled ‘Digital Synergy: Transforming Nepal’s Commodity Sectors for a smarter future,’ country director of Genese Solution’s Nepal office, Sharad Banjara, said that Genese is working in digital transformation of Nepal since 2018.
“Genese Solution is bringing global knowledge and technology to grow local market. If industry grows it will push each other and we can grow as a country together,” he added.
Vice President of FNCCI, Hem Raj Dhakal, said digital transformation could unleash Nepal’s potential and put the country on the global map. “We should harness the potential of IT to take Nepali products, including those of small and medium enterprises, to the global level,” he added.
Executive Consulting Advisor Bhim Dhakal, who was chairing the event, said that recent events in Nepal had highlighted the need of digital transformation and cyber security in the country. He called for public-private partnerships to create job opportunities for youth through digital transformation.
The event was organised by Genese Solution in collaboration with the FNCCI.
