Nepal Swimming Gala held in London (with list of winners)

London – The first-ever Nepal Swimming Gala 2025 was organised in London on Saturday.

Organised by Nepalese British Community (NBC) UK in collaboration with Nepal Run UK, Swimmersbolts, and NNIPA UK, the competition saw the participation of around 40 children and adults competing across various categories.

Addressing the participants, Olympian Gaurika Singh said that if passion for sports and discipline are nurtured from an early age, athletes can reach the international level in the future. She also thanked the organisers for taking this initiative and hosting the event.

Samirnath Pakurel, President of NBC UK, said that although many Nepali children in the UK learn swimming, there has been a lack of platforms for them to showcase their skills. He added that the competition was organised to address this gap.

Santosh Rai, Head Coach of Nepal Run UK, thanked all the sponsors, partner organisations, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the event. He stated that the primary objective of the programme was to promote health awareness within the community through sports.

Manager of HSBC UK, Purvee Patel, expressed her happiness to see a number of talented youth excelling in sports including swimming. She said the bank was always happy to support the local community initiative.

The HSBC UK had sponsored the event.
