SONEUK Hosts Networking Events Across Yorkshire



Hull, United Kingdom- The Chairperson of the Society of Nepalese Engineers in the UK (SONEUK), Er. Subodh Timilsina, as part of a wider initiative to bring together Nepalese engineers under the SONEUK network, visited the city of York on 7 November 2025 and attended a Meet and Greet Networking Event on Saturday, 8 November 2025, at the University of Hull.
The programme brought together Nepalese engineering students, professionals, and members of the wider Yorkshire community to strengthen collaboration and professional networking within the engineering field.
The event at the University of Hull was coordinated by Er. Hari Krishna Neupane. During the session, former SONEUK Chairperson Mr. Ghanashyam Poudel and Senior Engineer Ganesh Thapa highlighted the importance of SONEUK and emphasised how members can benefit through active participation.
The gathering proved successful, with strong support from local professionals and students, aiming to build a bridge between aspiring student engineers and established professionals working across Yorkshire and beyond.
Chairperson Er. Subodh Timilsina commenced the session by warmly welcoming all participants. In his opening remarks, he provided an overview of SONEUK’s mission and ongoing initiatives, highlighting the organisation’s dedication to promoting learning, engagement, and career guidance for Nepalese engineers in the UK.
He stressed the importance of community-driven events such as these in fostering collaboration, professional growth, and mutual support.
He further encouraged members and new engineers to participate actively in mainstream programmes that help develop soft skills and enhance employment opportunities.
Throughout the programme, participants actively shared their insights and suggestions on how SONEUK could further enhance its support for Nepalese engineers and students.

On Friday, 7 November, Chairperson Er. Subodh Timilsina also met with Nepalese engineers and members of the local community in York. This meeting provided another valuable opportunity to engage with professionals and understand the needs and aspirations of Nepalese engineers across different regions.
The networking events concluded on a positive and inspiring note, reaffirming SONEUK’s ongoing commitment to empowering Nepalese engineers in the UK through collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and community engagement.
The Chairperson expressed his intention to organise more such events in the future.
