Kathmandu: Genese Solution — a UK-based value IT consulting and cybersecurity firm — organised a Tech Job Enablement IT Workshop in collaboration with Kageshwori Manahara Municipality on Friday.

Addressing the event, Executive Director of Genese Solution, Mr. Bhim Dhakal, urged local youth to join the workshop and improve their skills. “IT literacy has become a must for all groups of people, especially the youth,” he said. He thanked Kageshwori Manahara Municipality for setting up the Innovation Centre and said that Genese Solution was happy to collaborate with the municipality with a view to supporting local youth in gaining tech skills and preparing them for employment opportunities in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.

Making a presentation, Founder and CEO of Genese Solution, Mr. Anjani Phuyal, said that bridging the gap in digital governance could create thousands of jobs and help Nepal connect with the world on its own terms.

“Genese Solution has established G-Tec, in collaboration with Kageshwori Manahara Municipality, with a view to empowering community members, including local youth, by providing industry-aligned skills, fostering innovation, and creating pathways to sustainable employment. Genese Solution has been organising tech bootcamps to train local youth in web development, data science, AI, and cybersecurity, among others,” said Phuyal, who is also a former AWS Ambassador for the UK and Ireland. “We will connect local youth to certificate-awarding courses offered by AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud, which will directly link them to the IT job market. Technology is not just about tools; it’s about people. Let us continue to create opportunities where young minds can innovate, inspire, and learn,” he added.

Mayor of Kageshwori Manahara Municipality, Mr. Upendra Karki, said that the municipality had decided to set up the Innovation Centre with the aim of making Kageshwori Manahara the country’s IT hub. He emphasised the vast opportunities that tech education could bring to the community. “Today’s youth are looking for education that can lead to gainful employment. We are very happy to collaborate with Genese Solution and would like to extend our sincere thanks to Genese for this timely initiative,” he said. He added that the municipality was working to create opportunities for the Gen Z generation.

Chairman of Ward No. 6 of Kageshwori Manahara Municipality, Mr. Prakash Phuyal, said that many young people were going abroad because they could not find employment locally. He thanked Genese Solution for providing such opportunities to local youth in their own community and expressed full support from the municipality.

In August this year, Genese Solution and Kageshwori Manahara Municipality signed an MoU with the objective of enhancing digital literacy and workplace readiness.

A ‘Girls in Tech’ group has also been formed to promote women’s participation in the tech sector. Nearly 70 local youth have already signed up with the center to join various courses, a press statement said.

Solution has offices in 10 countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and Finland.
