SONEUK Holds Successful AGM in Woolwich, London

London, 30 August 2025: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Society of Nepalese Engineers in UK (SONEUK) was successfully held on 30th August 2025 in Woolwich, London.

The meeting was chaired by Chairperson Er. Subodh Timilsina and conducted by General Secretary Er. Manoj Pun.

The programme opened with a welcome note, followed by the Annual Report of the 6th Executive Committee presented by General Secretary Er. Manoj Pun. He highlighted 46 events organised over the past year, covering training and CPD programmes, field visits, talk sessions, charity events, webinars, panel discussions, MoU signings, and the 10th Annual Conference, all of which were formally endorsed by the AGM.

Committee reports were presented by Executive Committee members. Treasurer Er. Suman Chalise delivered the Financial Report. General Secretary Er. Manoj Pun presented reports on behalf of Er. Suryanath Ghimire for Training & CPD, Er. Nirdesh Khatiwada for the Talk Programme, and Er. Sujan Sharma for IT.

Secretary Er. Sangita Pokhrel reported on the Social Subcommittee, while Er. Brahmandana Sapkota presented the Career Development Subcommittee Report.

Presenting his report, Membership Committee Coordinator Er. Pukar Shiwakoti highlighted the current challenges of membership renewal amidst the addition of 50 new members in a single year.

Chairperson Er. Subodh Timilsina addressed the meeting, focusing on the challenges young engineers face in entering the workforce. He stressed the importance of soft skill development, training opportunities, and preparation for next year’s conference, and shared two ideas discussed within the Executive Committee for wider member consideration.

The AGM concluded with an interactive session of feedback and questions, encouraging constructive dialogue for the society’s future growth. Chairperson Er. Timilsina emphasised practical pathways for young engineers, highlighting the need to develop relevant skills and confidently handle interviews.
