Voices and Music for Peace: Stories of Strength

नेपाली लिङ्क जुन २७, २०२५

LONDON – On Sunday, 6 July 2025, the International Association of Arts and Culture for Peace (IAACP) at the Universal Peace Federation – UK (UPF) will host a special cultural event titled “Voices and Music for Peace: Stories of Strength” at 43 Lancaster Gate, London. The programme will bring together artists, musicians, and peacebuilders to celebrate the power of creative expression in strengthening unity and resilience.

“Art and music have always been humanity’s most sincere expressions of hope. In a fractured world, they remain our most powerful instruments for healing, dialogue, and transformation. This event is a celebration of voices that refuse to be silenced and stories that continue to inspire,” said Dr Sangita Swechcha, Chair of IAACP – UPF UK.

Through inspiring performances, meaningful talks, and heartfelt stories, the event will explore how music and storytelling can cross boundaries, foster connection, and support a culture of peace.

The programme will open with a welcome by Robin Marsh, Secretary General of UPF – UK, followed by an overview of UPF’s vision and mission by Margaret Ali, Director of UPF – UK. Dr Sangita Swechcha will then share introductory remarks on IAACP’s work and its growing role in arts-based peacebuilding.

Secretary General at UPF – UK Robin Marsh noted: “Peace is more than the absence of conflict — it is the presence of harmony, compassion, and understanding.”

Director of UPF – UK Margaret Ali said, “Events like this remind us of the universal language of music and the enduring strength found in unity.”

The keynote address, “Harmony Beyond Borders: The Role of Music in Peacebuilding”, will be delivered by internationally recognised composer and conductor David Eaton. This will be followed by reflections from Ian Pelham Turner, international broadcaster and Patron of UPF – UK, on the media’s role in promoting peace.
