Kathmandu – Genese Solution, a leading IT and cybersecurity consulting firm, has provided laptops to five students who successfully completed a 10-day IT training programme organised by the company. These students were selected for internship opportunities but lacked personal devices, prompting this initiative to bridge the digital divide and support their learning journey.

The initiative aimed to empower local youth with practical IT skills through hands-on training, offer internship opportunities to apply those skills in real-world settings, and eliminate digital barriers by providing laptops to students without access, enabling them to pursue their internships and further learning.

Speaking at a programme organised at the Arun Rural Municipality office in Bhojpur district, eastern Nepal, on 15th May, the Chair of Arun Rural Municipality, Shalikram Khatri, said the initiative would help shape the future careers of the trainees. He thanked Genese Solution for training and supporting local youth in gaining valuable skills and mentorship.

Retired AIG of Nepal Police and Patron of the Sitaram Padma Kumari Foundation, Bhim Dhakal, emphasised the importance of digital literacy in today’s society and expressed hope that this support would open new career opportunities for local youth.

Sonika Jha, Senior Manager of Learning and Development at Genese Solution, shared a briefing on the programme and its objectives. Amit Joshi, Vice President – Pre-sales at Genese Solution, delivered a vote of thanks, highlighting the success of the training and the importance of continuous learning. He also underscored Genese’s commitment to inclusive digital empowerment across Nepal.
