AWS Community Day Nepal 2026 showcases Nepal’s tech potential

Lalitpur — Reflecting Nepal’s growing momentum in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, the 3rd edition of AWS Community Day Nepal 2026 brought together more than 500 developers, engineers, architects, startup founders, enterprise leaders, and technology professionals from across Nepal for one of Nepal’s largest community-led technology conferences.

Organized by AWS User Group Nepal at The Plaza, Pulchowk, Lalitpur, the event featured more than 15 technical sessions, keynote talks, leadership discussions, and specialized tracks focused on cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI systems, platform engineering, and modern digital transformation.

Opening the event, Anjani Phuyal, AWS User Group Nepal deader and Founder & CEO of Genese Solution, emphasized the growing role of community-driven learning in strengthening Nepal’s cloud, AI, and cybersecurity capabilities. Phuyal, who is an AWS Ambassador for the UK & Ireland region, has represented Nepal as a global speaker at international forums, including the United Nations STI Forum.

“AWS Community Day Nepal is not just about technology sessions — it is about bringing together builders, learners, leaders, and innovators who want to collaborate, grow, and help strengthen Nepal’s digital future,” said Mr Phuyal.

The conference also featured sessions from international AWS experts and technology leaders, including Chanpreet Singh, Senior Delivery Consultant – AI/ML at AWS India; Amit Kumar, Senior Solution Architect at AWS India; and Jatin Mehrotra, Developer Advocate at Amazon Web Services. Their sessions focused on practical AI adoption, resilient cloud infrastructure, platform modernization, and helping organizations build modern cloud-native applications at scale, among others.


Leadership Panel Discussion

A key highlight of the event was a leadership panel discussion moderated by Anjani Phuyal, AWS User Group Nepal Leader, featuring Rajendra Khetan, Chairman of Laxmi Sunrise Bank; Sunaina Pandey, President of CAN Federation; and Neelesh Man Singh Pradhan, CEO of Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL). The discussion explored how financial institutions, enterprises, and technology leaders in Nepal are approaching cloud adoption, AI readiness, and cybersecurity resilience.

The event featured three parallel technical tracks covering Cloud & Platform Engineering, Security, Compliance & Resilience Architectures, and Data Platforms, AI Systems & Production Machine Learning.

Technical speakers included Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Puru Tuladhar, Anand Mehta, Shreeti Shrestha, Narayan Koirala, and Prabhat Acharya, who shared real-world perspectives on cloud operations, DevSecOps, AI systems, machine learning, and enterprise-scale digital platforms.

The turnout at AWS Community Day Nepal 2026 highlighted growing interest across Nepal in cloud, AI, and cybersecurity learning as organizations continue accelerating digital transformation initiatives.

AWS Community Day events are globally recognized as community-led conferences organized “by the community, for the community,” and are held across countries including the United States, India, Germany, South Africa, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong.

Organizers said the conference reinforced the growing role of community-led learning in Nepal’s evolving technology ecosystem and demonstrated how the country is increasingly aligning with global trends in cloud computing, AI adoption, and cybersecurity innovation.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) User Group Nepal is a community-driven platform with around 3,000 members across Nepal, focused on advancing cloud, AI, and modern technology learning through meetups, workshops, technical sessions, and community-led events.

AWS User Groups are part of a broader global community network spanning 89 countries, with 362 AWS User Groups and more than 455,000 community members worldwide, making it one of the world’s largest cloud and developer community ecosystems.
