नेपाली लिङ्क जुन ११, २०२६

London — A special literary and cultural evening titled Literary Voices of Change: Poetry, Prose, and Narrative Perspectives will take place in London on 18 June 2026, bringing together writers, poets and cultural voices to explore storytelling as a tool for dialogue, identity and social change.

The event is being organised by the Universal Peace Federation – UK in collaboration with the International Association of Art and Culture for Peace.

The programme will feature book launches, poetry and prose readings, panel discussions and cultural reflections, highlighting how literature and media can contribute to understanding, empathy and peacebuilding across communities.
Writers and speakers include Dr Rupak Shrestha, Nabin K. Chettri, Uday Shankar Durjay, Shahd Karaeen and others, along with a special address by international broadcaster Ian Pelham Turner on the role of media in cultural expression and global understanding.

Two books will be launched during the evening — Pokhtak by Dr Rupak Shrestha and Going to Darjeeling with My Father by Nabin K. Chettri — followed by reflections and discussion.

Other highlights include a literary presentation by Uday Shankar Durjay on poetic form and an inspirational talk by Shahd Karaeen focusing on creativity, purpose and personal growth.

Speaking ahead of the event, IAACP UK Chair Dr Sangita Swechcha said literature plays a key role in connecting human experiences across cultures. She added, “Literature has always been more than storytelling. It is a living dialogue between cultures, histories, and human experiences. This gathering is about bringing those voices together and recognising creativity as a pathway to understanding and peace.”

The programme will conclude with audience interaction, book signings and media engagement sessions with participating authors.
