London – A group of scholars from diverse disciplines with an interest in Nepal has come together in London to form Nepal Development Watch (NeDeW). Nepal Development Watch is an independent, non-partisan network of scholars and professionals based in the United Kingdom, and Nepal, with aspirations to expand to other countries over time.
In the context of the recent Gen Z movement and the formation of a new government, NeDeW aims to contribute constructively to ongoing discussions around development in Nepal. It’s primary focus is to offer informed perspectives and practical suggestions in different areas of development, delivery and governance in Nepal.
Building on the context surrounding the formation of the new RSP-led government in late March 2026 under the leadership of Balendra Shah, NeDeW intends to develop a broad understanding of existing conditions and evolving priorities. Through research, policy analysis, and evidence-based insights, the network seeks to support thoughtful dialogue, encourage transparency, and help inform policy considerations.
NeDeW will engage in the collection and analysis of relevant information to better understand key issues and identify areas where constructive suggestions may be valuable.
Findings and recommendations will be shared through accessible channels, including briefing papers, quarterly updates, annual reports, and occasional press releases, with the aim of contributing positively to policy discussions and public understanding.
