Sangita Swechcha Honoured with Kitab Jatra Diaspora Literature 2026 Award

London — 20 August – Writer Dr Sangita Swechcha has been honoured with the Kitab Jatra Diaspora Literature 2026 Award during the Kitab Jatra Festival hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in London.

The award recognises Swechcha’s contribution to literature and celebrates her dedication and achievements as a writer and literary voice.
The award citation describes the honour as a “celebration of resilience, dedication, and extraordinary achievement” and a “tribute to excellence and perseverance” that can inspire the next generation of “dreamers, doers, and changemakers.”

Expressing her gratitude, Swechcha said:
“I am honoured to receive the Kitab Jatra Diaspora Literature 2026 Award. My heartfelt thanks to the Kitab Jatra Foundation and everyone who has shared their love, encouragement, and support. I am grateful and humbled.”

The recognition was presented as part of the Kitab Jatra Festival, which brings together writers, readers and literary enthusiasts to celebrate Nepali literature and culture.
