UK charity dinner raises more than £2,600 for Nepal flood victims

London – A charity dinner held in the UK has raised more than £2,600 to support communities affected by the devastating flash floods that struck Nepal last August.
The event, titled Momo for Nepal, was jointly organised by Kailash Momo and Swasthya Chiya early this month (4th October) . Funds were raised during the dinner to support relief efforts for those affected by the disaster.
The organisers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to the event’s success, including doctors from the Nepalese Doctors Association UK and Swasthya Chiya volunteers who dedicated their time to helping organise and manage the programme.
Special thanks were also extended to individual donors Rachel Lee, Church of Christ the King, Shobha Sharma Kandel and Dr Numa Thebe for their generous contributions.
The organisers also acknowledged the local businesses that donated prizes for the raffle, including Makhamali, Mimosa Candles, Beauty at the Slade, Reshi, The Laughing Gurkha Restaurant and Chupitos in Welling. Swasthya Chiya members who personally contributed raffle prizes were also praised for their support.
According to the organisers, the online fundraising campaign remains open for those wishing to contribute. All funds raised will be channelled towards flood relief in Nepal through the Nepalese Doctors Association UK, a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
Those wishing to support the relief campaign can make donations through the online fundraising link provided by the organisers.
